we archive your data on tape or S3. you pay us. storage can fail. keep copies elsewhere. don't share credentials or use us as a CDN—we're for archival, not distribution. no refunds unless we mess up. if we shut down, you get 60 days to claim your tapes. see our privacy policy for how we handle your data.
agreement
By using Bombable, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. We may update these terms. We'll notify you of significant changes via email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
privacy policy
Our privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. By using Bombable, you also agree to our privacy policy.
what we do
We provide S3-compatible object storage that writes data to LTO magnetic tape for archival purposes. You upload files. We write them to tape. We store the tapes. When you request data back, we read the tape and make it available to you. Retrieval takes days, not minutes.
your responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data elsewhere. We are designed to be one layer of your backup strategy, not your only copy. You are responsible for the content you upload. Don't upload illegal content. Don't use our service to harm others.
fair use
Bombable is for archival. Tape or S3, long-term storage. That's it.
Don't share your S3 keys. Don't put them in public apps. They're yours.
Don't use us as a CDN. No serving files to users, no streaming, no software downloads. Data comes in, data sits, data occasionally comes out. That's the model.
Don't transfer way more than you store. 18TB stored, hundreds of terabytes transferred? That's not archival. We'll notice. We'll ask about it.
Abuse gets your account throttled or terminated. We'll talk to you first if we can.
data loss and liability
Tapes can fail. Hardware can fail. Buildings can flood. Despite our best efforts, data loss is possible. We do not guarantee that your data will be recoverable. Our liability is limited to the storage fees you paid us in the 12 months before the incident, that is currently a maximum of $36. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or data.
A safer option is to store your data on multiple tapes in multiple locations. That's what the service is designed for.
payment and refunds
All purchases are non-refundable except when the error is ours. If we fail to write your tape, fail to store it properly, or otherwise don't deliver what we promised due to our mistake, we'll make it right or refund you. Normal tape degradation over time is not grounds for a refund.
tape ownership
When you buy a tape, you own it. You can request it be mailed to you (shipping costs apply). You can reuse it for future backups. It's your property.
account termination
You can close your account at any time. Request your tapes be mailed to you or we can securely erase them. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used for illegal purposes.
identity verification
If you lose access to your account, or if we have reasonable suspicion that your account may be compromised, we reserve the right to require identity verification before restoring access, providing data, or allowing data to be deleted. Identity verification may include a combination of government-issued photo ID, physical mailing address verification, phone ownership verification, and email verification.
if we shut down
If Bombable ceases operations, we will give you at least 60 days notice to provide a mailing address for your tapes. After that period, tapes may be securely wiped or destroyed. Bombable, LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents are not personally liable for losses arising from company shutdown.
indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bombable, LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third party rights, including intellectual property rights.
governing law
These terms are between you and Bombable, LLC, a Florida limited liability company. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Florida.
severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
entire agreement
These terms, along with our privacy policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bombable, LLC regarding the service.
